Purple Trout Offers New Service Guaranteed To Drastically Improve...

Purple Trout, LLC has partnered with Local Splash, a local map optimization firm, to help businesses improve their map search engine rankings.

Internet mapping tools have increasingly become a vital marketing resource for local businesses. Consumers often rely on Google Places (formerly Google Maps) and other mapping applications when searching for a particular type of business in their local area.

"It's all about local businesses being found in Google and other search engines," Purple Trout President Steve Phillips said. "The competition is fierce, and businesses need to take advantage of the tools and services that can move them up higher in search engines."

Being a Local Splash authorized reseller enables Purple Trout to use tools and strategies that have a solid track record of getting clients first page placement on local map searches. Purple Trout and Local Splash guarantee similar results within six weeks of client account set-up, or basic service will be free until first page visibility is accomplished.

In order to maximize local mapping presence, Local Splash creates a directory for each client featuring key attributes and vital information about the company's products, services, hours of operation, address, etc.
The information is distributed to all major search engine sites, Internet data providers and directories in a format guaranteeing Purple Trout clients are optimally positioned in map searches relevant to their business.

“Local Splash is excited about our partnership with Purple Trout SEO, “Local Splash Director of Business Development Michael Orefice said."This will be a mutually beneficial relationship that will make Local Splash’s affordable and effective local SEO services available to more businesses across America."

Companies using Local Splash map services tend to see improvements in their search engine rankings in approximately 14 days on some sites, and up to 60 days on others.

"It used to be said your business needed to be found in the Top 30 positions in Google search; then, it changed to the Top 10," said Phillips. "Now, however, you need to be at the top of search results. And, since Google is placing more emphasis on its Places feature, which is listed at the top of local search results, it is imperative businesses are included in Google Places and other mapping services."

Business information is also placed on websites and directories such as Yelp and Google Places where consumers frequently provide feedback on company services. Purple Trout clients can update company information through an online tool that also allows users to review performance reports and upload photos. MP3 Rocket Plans to Close P2P Service and Return a YouTube Downloader

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) December 12, 2010

Today MP3 Rocket (http://www.mp3rocket.com), announced that within a few weeks they will close down their current P2P client and replace it with a new YouTube video downloading and music converting technology.

Not the result of court injunction like Limewire, MP3Rocket, a similarly based Gnutella P2P client, will also be leaving the Gnutella P2P file-sharing network, not by court order but by its own accord.

The new YouTube "time-shifting" technology allows you to record Internet broadcasts the same way your TEVO records live TV for personal non-commercial uses. The time-shifting technology allows users to view user created content at a more convenient time, and therefore protecting users by the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark ruling in Sony Corp. v. Universal City Studios, 464 U.S. 417 (1984) No. 81-1687, better know as the "Betamax case."

You can test out the new free MP3Rocket beta technology here:

"MP3 Rocket has always adapted to provide the best possible customer experience," said Paschal Rousseau, MP3 Rocket Developer. "While this version of MP3 Rocket represents a significant change for the company as well as the industry the motivation to change came from superior technology rather than a legal ruling."

MP3 Rocket changes will include the ability to:
    Get more results faster for MP3 Searches.    Preview and download YouTube videos as MP3's.    Easily sync to an iPod with a single click.    Capture video from almost any internet stream or broadcast.The new software changes MP3 Rocket from a Gnutella based downloading client into a media search engine. Users will be able to search, download and convert media for use on their home computers and mobile devices. Utilizing the practice of "Time Shifting" MP3 Rocket makes media files available to download and view immediately, or at a more convenient time in the future.

MP3 Rocket's technology is also protected by the "private copying" provisions of the Canadian Copyright act.

What is private copying?

Private copying is the subject of Part VIII of Canada's Copyright Act, the federal statute that sets down the general legal framework for copyright in Canada. It has a very specific, and limited, meaning. A "private copy" is a copy of a track, or a substantial part of a track, of recorded music that is made by an individual for his or her own personal non-commercial use. A compilation of favorite tracks is a good example of how people typically use private copies.

The Canadian Private Copying exception that makes it legal to copy a sound recording onto an "audio recording medium" for the personal use of the person making the copy. Simply put, in Canada downloading a song for personal or the copying of recorded music for private use is not copyright infringement.

"... the (Canadian Copyright) Act legalizes copying recorded music for private use and thus provides a statutory exception to the exclusive reproduction rights of eligible authors, performers and makers of recorded music (rights-holders). At the same time, it entitles rights-holders to compensation for their loss of exclusivity by imposing a levy on media used to record music."

The Canadian Parliament looks to continue support for private copying in the proposed Canadian copyright reform bill C-32.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_C-32_(40th_Canadian_Parliament,_3rd_Session)

"Fixing Signals and Recording Programs for Later Listening or Viewing
Reproduction for later listening or viewing

29.23 (1) It is not an infringement of copyright for an individual to fix a communication signal, to reproduce a work or sound recording that is being broadcast or to fix or reproduce a performer's performance that is being broadcast, in order to record a program for the purpose of listening to or viewing it later, if
(a) the individual receives the program legally;
(b) the individual, in order to record the program, did not circumvent, as defined in section 41, a technological protection measure, as defined in that section, or cause one to be circumvented;
(c) the individual makes no more than one recording of the program;
(d) the individual keeps the recording no longer than is reasonably necessary in order to listen to or view the program at a more convenient time;
(e) the individual does not give the recording away; and
(f) the recording is used only for private purposes.

While some Americans may feel manipulated by the music industry by paying too much for music in proprietary format, and need to fear if they download a song, Canadian politicians have crafted an innovative copyright policy that recognizes the reality of the Internet and digital music.

Self Service Simplifies Application Migration to Windows 7

Berwyn, IL (PRWEB) November 12, 2010

Migrating applications to Windows 7 can be a time consuming and arduous process. Taking software inventory on all machines, synchronizing the old machine with the new one, and ensuring that end-users have the applications they want after migration are all tasks that are easily automated by SCCM Expert's Self Service and Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager 2007.

Celanese, a global integrated producer of chemicals and advanced materials, recently started migration of 7000 desktops. Rob Foerster, Global Infrastructure Team Lead, Celanese commented "We did not have a mechanism to take inventory on all our 7000 desktops and then synch the applications on the old machine to the new one. This was turning out to be a 6 hour manual process, which we have automated with SCCM Expert's Self Service."

SCCM Expert's Self Service now has built in appSurvey and associated work flow. With appSurvey, IT administrators provide end-users a URL at which they can see a list of all software on their machine, how often they use it and what it costs. End-users can select software they want re-installed on their new machines. The appSurvey is then sent to an administrator for approval. The administrator reviews the survey and triggers migration with the push of a button or allows the users to start migration.

"We no longer need 3 resources onsite installing applications. We bring machines on the network and schedule migrations remotely through Self Service. Migration can be scheduled during off-work hours to reduce downtime. There is also cost saving resulting from the return of unused software licenses. People install expensive software and then do not use it once a project is over. These licenses are returned to a common pool during the appSurvey process," said Rob Foerster.

John Juris, SCCM Expert President, remarks "With such a dramatic push to Windows 7 in progress, companies have the opportunity to review their software usage patterns. By leveraging Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager software inventory and usage data, appSurvey will intelligently provide recommendations on what and what not to migrate based on administrator policies."

"SCCM Expert has a great approach to the migration of applications during Windows 7 deployments. The automated workflow, integrated with System Center Configuration Manager, helps enterprises get an understanding of their software usage and costs, and simplifies the migration process," said JD Marymee, Director Strategic Alliances, Management and Security Division, Microsoft Corporation. "Self Service migration of applications reduces IT effort, downtime and license cost while enabling enterprises to realize the ROI of Windows 7."

Contact SCCM Expert at 1-877 517 8435 or sales(at)sccmexpert(dot)com to discuss how we can help you migrate applications to Windows 7.
